In his theory of foreign aid or overseas development assistance, Hans J. Morgenthau suggested that whether aid was given as socio-economic, humanitarian, or as military assistance, this exchange of capital resources between nations was not necessarily designed to spur economic development.

Throughout our journey to provide services in the advisory, internationalization, and advocacy space, Morgenthau’s thoughts have been our North Star; our sextant to navigate global capital and other avenues via which less-developed, developing, and frontier markets can spur growth in their own lands.

We have also been inspired by William Shakespeare:
As Gregory said to Sampson in a {post-prologue} scene in
Romeo & Juliet, ‘... To move is to stir; [to] be valiant is to stand.’

Hence, we stirred in an attempt of valor;
A birdling in a nest; a small thing stirred to fly.
A Morgenthau Stirling.
Established to provide strategic partnership development solutions to development financial institutions (DFIs), Morgenthau Stirling was re-constituted to address emerging markets' challenges in boosting their trade and investment partnerships with more developed countries in the Northern Hemisphere.

With in-depth partnerships in Asia, Europe, and America, the firm is governed, managed, and staffed by experts on advocacy, policy, and promotion of economic relationships between emerging markets and their traditional and non-traditional partners.

Given the opportunities and challenges in global governance and international business, our value proposition is premised on driving global capital into emerging markets via their most effective agencies and intermediaries.

If we prioritize investment-grade development financial institutions from emerging markets, then we may, in the short-term, boost North American direct investment into these markets. These increases should signal other global sources that Africa and the Caribbean are viable destinations for FDI.

The 55 Member States of the African Union
are 22 percent of the world's 221 destinations for global FDI. Yet they attract an average of less
than 5 percent of the world's direct investment.
